Lee Roy Selmon's existence is a combination of football scholarship, family work and community involvement. His family's first name is he's the youngest out of nine kids who were raised within Eufala through Lucious Selmon. He played second in football and was the third brother who were players for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the United States by Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. He was awarded two championships as well as 31-1-1 during his three years as Oklahoma's main man. In his role as a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded an award for his third season in 1975. Selmon received his bachelor's master's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy's fourth time of service included ten hours per week of volunteer time in college. In Tampa where he played, he joined the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. He also began a career in business. He began his career in 1988. worked as an Account Relation Manager in the First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of America's most outstanding young men. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch higher and weighing in at more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as an athlete, was captain of his team throughout 1975. In 1993 he joined his current position at University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame through The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 and in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded their Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma awarded it.
